Regulatory Policy Analyst

About the Public Generating Pool:

The Public Generating Pool (PGP) is a member-based trade association with nine members who are consumer-owned electric utilities in Washington and Oregon. PGP members own hydroelectric, gas, wind, and other renewable generation facilities and who purchase both non-federal and federal power-generating resources. PGP’s mission is to educate, advocate, and collaborate on behalf of collective generator-owner members in support of a reliable, affordable, and sustainable Western power system.

To advance its mission, PGP monitors and analyzes regional Northwest and Western issues and trends that impact generation-owning member utilities. PGP also engages in Western regional stakeholder processes as well as Washington state policy development and regulatory implementation, working to shape and influence policy developments related to critical issues of clean energy policy and the energy transition.

PGP includes a Board that meets monthly and includes member utility senior managers who guide the direction of the organization. Specific issue tracking is done by multiple subcommittees that include staff from member utilities. PGP is currently actively involved in regional discussions on clean energy policy, resource adequacy, and transmission expansion.
